B-Witches Tavern Fetish Night
2004-05-01
2004-05-13, Chatting with Dee

Dee spends several hours each day chatting on Yahoo IM...

Several questions are asked again and again, so I asked Dee to save her answers for the journal.

Reader: How did you happen into the lifestyle?

Dee: 6 years ago I met Mick, who became my Master. I didn't know anything about this before him....had no clue. Mick has been interested in bdsm forever. So shortly after he met me, he started to slowly introduce me to it and I quickly became addicted.

Reader: As a teenager, did you ever imagine you'd have a collar locked around your neck all the time?

Dee: As a teenager...I had no clue there was such a thing much less a lifestyle. I read a lot of historical romance ... stories about pirates and their captive, etc. So, I guess, in a way I was primed for bdsm, just didn't know it was there.

Reader: Your bio mentions you are the mother of teenagers. Do they have any idea what is going on? After all, wouldn't they notice you were wearing the same neck jewelry each and every day?

Dee: My kids have no clue, same as when I was a teenager, that there is such a thing as a "lifestyle". They know that I wear a "necklace" and they have seen the lock. The simple explaination is that Mick gave it to me and holds the key because I belong to him....just like a wedding ring says the same thing. You lock up what is precious to you. They suspect that there is spanking and whipping that goes on...I know they've heard things from the bedroom door, but it is just something that we do and they don't associate it currently with any lifestyle. They have also seen the whip since we all do Ren Faires as a family and dress up for them. So, even though they may hear a whip crack, as far as they know, Mick is just practicing with it. They don't need to know that he also hits me with it and that I enjoy it...lol.

I like to think of it this way. If I sit at his feet...am I a loving wife or a loving slave. If I get him his favorite drink ...am I a loving wife or a loving slave. Only those that know of the lifestyle actually see any thing different from anybody else...it's in the mind. Most people see my collar as a cool necklace. In all my years (over 3) of wearing it...I've only had maybe 2 or 3 people make any comments that lead me to think they knew more than the average person.

So even if the lifestyle is a major part of my life....most people have no clue and don't see anything unusual. One thing, though, Mick and I are not into much Gorean or ritual type of things. So that decreases a lot of what others might see as unusual in my opinion. I don't have to sit at his feet, or do any of the other rituals that some people impliment into their lifestyle. I also don't use titles...like Sir or Master... when I address him or anybody else. Although if we ever do decide to add that to what we do, it would be easy to add it in such a way that nobody really notices anything more unusual than the fact that we really pay attention to each other.
